Description
Oil and gas exploration is the process of searching for underground reserves of petroleum and natural gas. The goal of exploration is to identify areas that are likely to contain significant amounts of these resources, so that companies can then drill and extract the oil and gas.
Once an area has been identified as having the potential for oil and gas reserves, exploration drilling may be conducted to confirm the presence of oil and gas. Exploration drilling involves drilling a well to a depth where oil or gas is likely to be found, and then analyzing the samples taken from the well to determine the composition of the rock layers.
Oil and gas exploration is a complex and expensive process, and success rates can vary widely depending on the area being explored and the methods used. However, the potential rewards for successful exploration can be significant, as oil and gas are valuable resources that are in high demand around the world.
