Objective of the programme is to enable participant to support renewable energy projects, deep and shallow water assets with minimum supervision for all engineering designs, deepwater diving operations & subsea related activities including:

  • working out the technical and economic aspects of new renewable energy sites, including wind farms, solar installations and hydro or marine power
  • carrying out site and ground condition inspections for new and existing sites
  • using computer modelling software to produce detailed designs and energy production estimates
  • ensuring that the installation and running of renewable energy sites meets environmental laws
  • Conducting proactive surveillance of subsea equipment from data interrogated from surveillance tools and presenting insights on performance in addition to identifying opportunities to enhance existing operations.

  • Producing engineering deliverables, which may include engineering support to DO, design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports and 3rd-party submissions.
  • Consolidates knowledge in areas of discipline engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements and current good engineering practice.
  • Reviewing Design Proposals from contractor Design proposals include Basis of Design, Flow Diagrams, Specifications, Procedures, Calculation Notes, & MTOs .
  • Ensuring that Design proposals from contractor meet the requirements and expectations of the various Exhibits in the FEED Contract.
  • Reviewing documents issued by contractor for the Scope of Work relevant to the Subsea Jumpers & Connection Systems.
  • Provide the main interface between the ROV contractor and the client. In addition; able to develop detailed procedures, equipment lists, deck plans and any other relevant requirements.
  • Participating in Design Reviews, and Technical Workshops and any other Meetings as assigned within the Scope of Work relevant to the Subsea Jumpers & Connection Systems.
  • Ensuring Interface issues from other Packages relevant to the Jumpers & Connection Systems are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining the integrity and functionality of all components of the subsea control system from the Well subsea tree to the interface with topsides controls systems including associated umbilical connectors, electrical power system, hydraulic system and associated equipment of the overall subsea control system.
  • Generating overall subsea infrastructure field layout summarizing the output from the many other work activities, taking into account: planned well top hole locations, drilling rig location, reach and operational constraints, well deviation costs, seabed/shallow hazards and topography, flowline and umbilical architecture and operation, future field expansion capability, etc.
  • Ensuring that the hardware are installed correctly via creation of thorough installation and pre-commissioning procedures and that interfaces with all project team personnel are properly effectively managed.
  • Providing technical support during offshore installation, commissioning and start up.
  • Troubleshooting subsea flow assurance, control systems issues as and when they arise and also assists in the production of technical documentation.
  • Addressing subsea hardware related queries and technical clarification questions from vendors, developing technical evaluation criteria and delivering the technical evaluation of the subsea hardware scope
  • Developing subsea inspection plans and supporting execution of survey activities for subsea equipment
  • Analyzing inspection results and conducting fitness for service assessment to ensure integrity of the subsea equipment
  • Participating in, or leading various safety studies/activities such as: PHAs, HAZOPS, JSAs and incident investigations for marine systems. In addition; prepare and present, Task Risk Assessments.
  • Supporting maintenance of subsea equipment spares inventory and subsea tooling.
  • Interfacing with diverse groups including vendors and operations/maintenance technicians on subsea related issues
  • Providing technical leadership on all subsea-related issues.
  • Act as company representative at such events as load tests, trial fit-ups etc.
  • Perform administrative functions; such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheet and expense sheets on a complete timely, and thorough basis.
  • Ensure that all pipelines are inspected and maintained according to clients Specifications and the Mineral Oil Safety Regulations (MOSR) of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR)and fit for purpose
  • Ensure all subsea activities are perform within budget
  • Ensure technical support in assuring integrity of FSO Unity and CALM Buoy
  • Ensure statutory and integrity compliance of production assets as required by statutory regulations and company rules.
  • Able to supervise inspection program for all platform jackets and pipelines risers to assure integrity and compliance to Local regulations and company rules
  • Define scope of work, budget and planning for subsea inspection of platform jackets and pipeline risers in accordance to COMPANY Rule, Department of Petroleum Resources Regulations.
  • Supervise the operation of underwater inspection of platform jackets, anchor chains, flexible risers PLEM by either Diving or ROV.
  • Supervise Classification activities of FSO Unity and CALM Buoy as per BV Class Rules

 

In addition; participant shall be able to support the following activities with regards to subsea UFR and pipeline Pipelines Inspection activities for all JV Field Operation in Offshore and Onshore locations.

Business Development Manager: Energy / Oil & Gas / Subsea:

  • Manage relationships with the broker channel and ensure effective broker service levels.
  • Cross-sell into OM and Nedbank capital/investment.
  • Drive new business growth and build critical mass within agreed timeframes in target regions.
  • Manage relationships with the in country team and ensure effective service levels.
  • Manage and drive portfolio profitability and growth.
  • Identify and create coordinated business development opportunities.
  • Attain business development targets, goals and performance levels. Comply with business rules and conditions.
  • Underwrite utilising best practice underwriting framework, processes and practices within delegated authority mandate.
  • Manage campaigns and interventions in line with opportunities, available resources, product scope and best practises in short-term insurance.
  • Manage the allocated business development, incentive and expense budget for the team against set targets.
  • Manage all costs, resource capacity planning and utilisation to support the achievement of business development targets, volumes, operational budgets and plans.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to improve and expand product and service offerings.
  • Actively manage and report on the achievement of business development targets as well as industry performance and trends.
  • Lead the measurement, assessment and reporting on the performance of teams against targets and industry norms.
  • Deliver the required customer experience to maximise their potential and the profitability.
  • Translate strategy into relevant service standards and processes, setting, communicating and measuring the corresponding operational measures and targets.
  • Collate, monitor and resolve customer/broker queries and complaints when necessary.
  • Control and monitor all required management activities in region.
  • Management and implementation of ad hoc projects.
  • Keep abreast of market conditions and trends.

Business Development / Pipeline:

  • Develop and maintain client and project target list
  • Define clear strategies and schedules for achieving set targets
  • Ensure prequalification of the Company with existing and potential customers, government agencies to enable Company to be in a position to bid for projects within its sphere of capabilities
  • Carry out risk identification, profit potential and analysis for each business target
  • Manage tender submissions, including liaison with Operations, Planning and Development, Facilities, Administration and Finance on submission of bid documents.
  • Provide inputs to management based on market information to enable the Company to develop capabilities in areas that will give it strategic leverage for future projects.
  • Gather and analyse market intelligence for new projects and opportunities.

Business Development / IMR:

    • Design and execute a successful business development strategy which will result in winning a range of subsea engineering projects in Inspection, Maintenance and repairs capacity.
    • Thorough understanding of customer requirements and market conditions
    • Conduct market research through publications and contacts to generate new business enquiries and new clients for the company
    • The role will incorporate responsibility for all aspects of the business generation process including sales strategy formulation, market research and analysis, brand management and promotional activities, preparation of proposals, and commercial and contractual negotiation.
    • Client/contractor interaction & communication from project inception to completion and also maintain excellent client relations
    • Supervise Subsea contracts and interface with clients on operations.
    • Building a database of target opportunities with the clients and on projects; Identification of new related ventures or services that could compliment the company’s
    • Establish and control budgets, forecasts and ensure proper reporting of commercial performance of all Subsea Services Projects
    • Proactively developing new business and creating partnerships/strategic alliances

Pipelines and Flow lines:

      • Supervise inspection program for all platform jackets and pipelines risers to assure integrity and compliance to Local regulations and COMPANY rules

Subsea Structures:

      • Supervise inspection program for all platform jackets and pipelines risers to assure integrity and compliance to Local regulations and COMPANY rules
      • Define scope of work, budget and planning for subsea inspection of platform jackets and pipeline risers in accordance to COMPANY Rule & Department of Petroleum Resources Regulations.
      • Supervise the operation of underwater inspection of platform jackets, anchor chains, flexible risers PLEM by either Diving or ROV.

Floating Units:

Supervise Classification activities of FSO Unity and CALM Buoy as per BV Class Rules which involves:

      • Elaborate planning and scheduling of survey of FSO Unity Hull and Tanks
      • Issuing scope of work, budget and planning for underwater activities by diving and ROV for class surveys
      • Liaising with HQ on repair recommendations of Floating units as per Class Rules.
      • Planning and maintaining floating export hoses and export risers in accordance with international standards

UFR Engineering:

      • Coordinating & supervising the specifications of cable and ensure the manufacturing is done in accordance with such specifications,
      • Applying applicable international codes and standards for cable.
      • Supporting required tests to be performed on cable right from manufacturing to commissioning stage with acceptance criteria,
      • Supervising the vendor reps when they perform such tests and ensure everything is done correctly.
      • Supporting in provide inputs on troubleshooting in case of any fault finding.
      • Providing installation support along with pulling of the cable from J tube to J tube on platforms.
      • Applying knowledge of various Installation aids required for installation of such cable.
      • Interfacing with MWS during load-out and sea-fastening of cable reels.
      • Coordinating & supervising installation analysis and ensure installation is done in accordance to it.

Subsea Structural Package Engineer:

Should be able to function in the following capacity:

  • Interfacing with internal functions, pipelay subcontractor, LLI Delivery Team, OSS, and client to ensure delivery of products.
  • Ensure successful delivery of the packages and design scopes, throughout the project life cycle.
  • Specific areas of engagement – Interface loads, MTO, convergence plan, PLET and Spool delivery roadmap.
  • Define with the Lead Subsea Structural Package Engineer and Project Package Manager along with Project Functions as required the physical limits of their respective Package and associated HSES, Quality and Schedule Targets.
  • Prepare an Execution Plan and a Convergence Plan, working with the Project Planner. Follow budget and control schedule.
  • Undertake regular progress reviews with the engineering team, SCM, suppliers, logistics, fabricator and highlight areas of concern to management. Support readiness reviews.
  • Identify and ensure management of changes. Prepare and follow-up project changes, variation orders through the Onshore Technical Change process, contract variation procedures and support the Contracts team.
  • Coordinate and follow up the execution of all Engineering scopes interfacing with Supply Chain, Fabrication and Operations.
  • Take ownership, manage the risks and schedule associated to their work package scope of work.
  • Ensure all interface aspects are addressed in a timely and appropriate manner in sufficient detail to ensure smooth progress of the work and link with the Interface Manager.

In addition, should be able:

  • To Lead Subsea Structural Package Engineer and Project Package Manager in any areas of concern and seek guidance in case of conflicts related to internal interfaces.
  • To Lead Subsea Structural Package Engineer or Project Engineering Manager in any technical area of concern and seek arbitration in case of conflicts related to internal interfaces.
  • Follow the engineering work executed by the associated Technical Lead and report to the Project Engineering Manager.
  • Engage in design reviews, development of CTRs, RACI matrix, interfaces, MDRs, action tracking, PPM at suppliers, fabricators, audits, convergence plan and management. Ensure compliance with the Project Management process.
  • Participate in the engineering, procurement, fabrication follow-up as well as PPM, FAT, SIT, offshore operations and readiness reviews as required. Ensure all relevant lessons learned are captured and communicated to the project, and performed in accordance with best practice, mitigate risk, promote continuous improvement, safety, integrity, and compliance.
  • Represent the project and Subsea 7 in meetings with project partners (OSS, SLB, EPF) clients, sub-contractors, and 3rd parties, in a technical capacity and provides knowledge of the assigned package.

Renewable Energy Engineers:

Renewable energy engineers work on the production of energy from renewable or sustainable sources, including wind, solar and hydro or marine power. They research and develop new machinery and equipment, production processes and ways to minimise impact on the environment.

"Liquefied Natural Gas Engineering Production Processes (LNGEPP) Level 1 & Level 2 was well taught and well presented. The slide arrangement was sequential to the processes.
