Introduction to Subsea Production System

The subsea production system is associated with the overall process and all equipment involved in the arrangement. It is designed in such a way that safety, environment protection, and flow assurance and reliability are taken into consideration for all subsea oil and gas exploitation.

A subsea production system consists of a subsea completed well, subsea drilling systems, subsea processing, seabed wellhead, subsea trees, subsea manifolds, subsea tie- in to flowline system, and subsea equipment and control facilities to operate the well. The subsea production system of a single well with a flowline can be linked to a fixed platform or Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO), or onshore facilities, to several wells on a template or clustered around a manifold that transfer to a fixed or floating facility or directly to onshore facilities as shown in figure.1.0.
