Description
WFOSPMDEFT Level 1 is a comprehensive training program designed for drilling engineers and field technicians to understand and manage stuck pipe incidents during drilling operations. It covers the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to prevent, identify, and mitigate stuck pipe situations.
WFOSPMDEFT Level 1 introduces participants to the common causes and mechanisms of stuck pipe incidents, such as differential sticking, wellbore instability, and wellbore geometry. It covers the key principles and techniques used in stuck pipe prevention and management, including mud properties, drilling practices, and wellbore strengthening methods.
Participants in WFOSPMDEFT Level 1 learn about the different types of stuck pipe situations, such as pack-off, differential sticking, and keyseating. They gain an understanding of the indicators and symptoms associated with each type of stuck pipe and learn how to identify and assess the severity of a stuck pipe event.
The training emphasizes proactive approaches to stuck pipe management, focusing on preventive measures and early detection. Participants learn about monitoring techniques, such as drilling parameters analysis and real-time data interpretation, to identify potential stuck pipe conditions and take appropriate actions to prevent the situation from escalating.
WFOSPMDEFT Level 1 also covers basic remedial techniques for freeing stuck pipe, such as pipe manipulation, mechanical jar operations, and chemical treatments. Participants gain knowledge of the various tools and methods used in stuck pipe recovery and learn how to assess the risks and limitations associated with each technique.
Stuck Pipe Management for Drilling Engineers & Field Technicians (SPMDEFT) Level 1 course covers Types of Stock Pipe, Differential Pressure Possible Indicators, Differential Pressure Prevention or Mitigation, Method of Freeing Stuck Pipe Due to Differential Pressure, Method of Reducing Hydrostatic Pressure in the Annulus, Mechanical Pipe Sticking, Freeing Mechanically Stuck Pipe and more.
