Pipeline Leak Detection & Management (PLDSSM) Level 1 & Level 2

$1450.00 $550.00 exc VAT

Purpose

To develop the highly specialized skills and knowledge in the areas of pipeline leak detection & management at beginners to intermediate level.

PLDSSM Level 1 & Level 2 is meant for pipeline engineers, project engineers, operation engineers, maintenance engineers, technicians who want to expand their knowledge in pipeline leak detection & management.

Training Mode: Online

Category:

Description

Pipeline leak detection and management are critical components of maintaining the integrity and safety of pipelines that transport various fluids such as oil, gas, and water. The main objective of a leak detection and management system is to detect any leaks in the pipeline as soon as possible and take immediate action to minimize the damage caused by the leak.

There are several different methods of detecting leaks in pipelines, including pressure monitoring, flow monitoring, acoustic monitoring and visual monitoring. Once a leak has been detected, the next step is to manage the leak and minimize its impact. This may involve shutting down the pipeline, isolating the affected section, and repairing the leak as quickly as possible. It is important to have a well-designed emergency response plan in place to ensure that all necessary steps are taken in a timely and effective manner.

Pipeline leak detection and management are critical components of ensuring the safe and reliable operation of pipelines. By implementing effective leak detection and management systems, operators can minimize the risk of leaks and minimize the damage caused by any leaks that do occur.

Pipeline Leak Detection & Management (PLDSSM) Level 1 & Level 2 covers methods of detecting leaks i.e. odor, vegetation, insetcs, fungus like growth, sound, soap solution, leak detection instrument etc.; leak detection instruments such as bead sensor type detector, combustible gas indicator (CGI), flame ionization (FI) gas detector, PD (Personal Detector) short locator etc.; recommended method for surface gas detection survey with FI Unit, follow up inspection, leak classification & action criteria and more.
