Description
Onshore pipeline construction engineering involves the design, planning, and construction of pipelines that transport liquids and gases overland. This includes the development of pipeline routes, pipeline materials selection, pipeline diameter and thickness determination, and the selection of appropriate equipment for the construction process.
The engineering design process includes a detailed analysis of the pipeline system, including the fluid flow characteristics, pressure requirements, and other technical factors that will impact the pipeline’s performance. Environmental and regulatory requirements also play a key role in the design process.
During the construction phase, engineers must ensure that the pipeline is installed according to the design specifications, including the use of appropriate materials, welding techniques, and other construction practices. Safety and environmental considerations are paramount throughout the construction process, and engineers must monitor the construction site to ensure that all regulations and guidelines are being followed.
In addition to the design and construction phases, pipeline engineers are also responsible for the maintenance and operation of the pipeline system. This includes routine inspections and repairs, as well as more extensive maintenance activities like cleaning and corrosion control.
PCEMPEM Level 1 & Level 2 covers Stages and management of Pipeline Construction Process including Activities of Pipeline Construction Procedures, Work Procedures, Need for Work Procedures, ROW Clearing and Grading, Transportation Handling and Stringing of the Pipes, Trenching, Cover to Pipe, Bending, Mainline Welding, Standards | Codes, Destructive Test, Radiography, Visual Examinations of Weld, Joint Coating, Pipeline Lowering In Trench, Tie- Ins, Types Of Crossings, Cased Crossing, Clean-Up and Restoration, Air pigging Cleaning and Gauging, Hydrostatic Testing, Cleaning and Gauging Operation, Markers and Valve Installation, Caliper Survey, Line Preservation and more.
