General Health Safety and Environment, commonly abbreviated as HSE, refers to a set of practices and protocols designed to promote the health, safety, and well-being of individuals in a workplace or other setting, while also protecting the environment. HSE encompasses a range of activities, including risk assessment, hazard identification, incident investigation, emergency response planning, and environmental management. The goal of HSE is to prevent accidents, injuries, and illnesses by identifying and mitigating potential hazards and promoting safe and responsible practices. HSE is an important aspect of many industries, including construction, manufacturing, energy, and transportation, among others.
The course will equip participants with general safety (HSE) knowledge and certify them as HSE competent. HSE certificate is compulsory for anyone who desires to work in the oil and gas industry. Our GHSE Level 1 & Level 2 covers Principles of health and safety, responsibilities placed on employers and employees, Hazard identification and control, importance of risk assessment as a technique for accident and ill health prevention, unsafe acts and unsafe conditions as the main causes of harm to workers(manual handling, hazardous substances, exposure to noise and vibration), hierarchy of controls to eliminate or reduce hazards to acceptable level, relations between companies and host communities, appreciate how workplace equipment and task design affect health and safety, contributing to health and safety management system, effects of drug and alcohol abuse in the workplace, occupational health and hygiene, importance of accident investigation and reporting, environmental issues and sustainable development, emergency first aid and more.

Candidates underpinning knowledge of Health Safety and Environment will be assessed using questioning during the training and a short answer multiple-choice questionnaire at the conclusion of the course.
